Grammar: Present perfect or Past simple

Here is a link to some activities to practise these two tenses.

It is very important that you can use these tenses correctly.

To talk about something you have done any time in your life, use the present perfect.
To talk about something you did at a specific time in the past your life, use the past simple.

For example,

I have lived in Pakistan. I have eaten scorpion. I have jumped out of an aeroplane. I have read two books this year. (It is still this year. This year is not past) I have studied every day this week. (It is still this week. This week is not in the past)

I live in Pakistan two years ago. I ate scorpion in China. (Am I in China now? No.) I jumped out of an aeroplane when I was on holiday. I read two books last year. I studied every day last week.
